The grant application must be completed online. No hard copy applications or letters of recommendation will be accepted by the Foundation. All applicants that have not received a grant may apply again, however, they must complete a new application.
All applications must be received April 1st to be considered. References must be completed by April 1 as well.
Eligibility: Grants are awarded for the study of a Master of Divinity degree only. No grants will be awarded for any other course of study.
To be eligible, the candidate must be a full time student and fulfill one of the following three requirements:
1. Plan to attend an accredited theological seminary located within the Great Lakes region
OR
2. Plan to attend Asbury Theological Seminary
OR
3. Be a resident of the Great Lakes region or have been a resident for at least 2 years of a Great Lakes state. In this situation the applicant can attend an accredited theological seminary outside of the Great Lakes region.
The Great Lakes region is considered the following:
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Michigan
- Minnesota
- New York
- Ohio
- Pennsylvania
- Wisconsin
Decisions & Notifications: Award notifications are sent out by early June. If you have not received a reply by June 20th, you can assume that you have not been awarded a grant. Please do not call or email for a status of your application.
*Please note: If you are not awarded a grant, please consider completing a new application for the following year. We receive hundreds of applications. Many of the applications are worthy of funding, however, we are not able to grant them all.
