History:

Since 1975, the Opal Dancey Memorial Foundation has provided grants to students seeking a Master of Divinity degree and who will be serving in pulpit ministry.

Eligibility:

To be considered for an Opal Dancey Memorial Foundation Grant, an applicant must demonstrate the following:

1. The applicant must hold an undergraduate degree from an accredited university or college. 

2. The applicant must be a full time student pursuing a Master of Divinity degree from an accredited theological seminary.

3. The seminary in which the applicant is attending is located within a Great Lakes state OR

4. The applicant lives or has lived in a Great Lakes state and the seminary in which the applicant is attending is outside of the Great Lakes region.

Award Amount

1.Grants are awarded in the amount of $3,000 upon acceptance.

2. Grants may be renewed for a maximum of four years for full time study.  Grant renewal requests must be in writing.  (See Grant Renewal Process.)

3. Grants should be used for study related expenses.
